Have you ever read a book or watched a movie and thought, “How would I handle that?” If the answer was “Not nearly as well as this character,” then you already understand what drives me. I like to strip away the chosen-one hero and drop in an everyday person— someone flawed, unlucky, and just trying to get by. What happens next? Usually chaos, poor decisions, and the occasional moment of stubborn survival. Clean victories aren’t really my specialty.
I’ve been writing since I was nine, back when my brother and I would sketch characters— until I started naming them, giving them backstories, and deciding who hated who. The Evil Knight was mean, the Good Knight was nice… riveting stuff, really. From those humble beginnings, I graduated from drawings to comic books, to short stories, and eventually to full-fledged novels. The stakes have gotten higher, the worlds darker, and the characters messier— but at least my knights have better motivations these days.
